KBS/Medifast 2008 Pro Cycling Team

There can be few teams in North America today that have had the kind of ride the Kelly Benefit Strategies/Medifast pro cycling team pulled off in 2007. Launched just 12 months ago low on the radar of most people in the sport, KBS/M went on to snatch podiums, pull off one of the most notable wins in recent cycling history and develop a new and distinctive style of team racing that got crowds and competitors buzzing.

In the summer of 2007, the team became the only first year team in US cycling history to win the overall at the USPRO Criterium Championships at Downer's Grove Illinois. And win it in style. On a rain soaked course the entire team took the front and rode the train for more than a dozen laps, a distinctive racing style that has quickly become associated with KBS/M.

"We have an incredible lineup of gifted all-rounders capable of putting it all out there," says performance director Jonas Carney. "More importantly than that, wherever we go, we race as a team, not a couple of stars and the guys who support them."

The 2008 roster sees five new athletes added to the team: Andrew Bajadali winner of the 2007 Redlands Classic, Alex Candelario winner of the Tour de Nez 2007, Brian Bucholz in his first year as a pro and the fastest young riders on either side of the North American border: Ben King Junior National TT and road race champion and David Veilluex, U23 Canadian Time Trial Champion. It's going to be a fast year.
